Jimmy Barnes — Hell of a Time Tour

  • Venue

    The Opera House

After 40 years on stage Jimmy Barnes is the heart and the soul of Australian rock and roll. ‘Icon’ can be an overused term, but ‘Barnsey’ has earned the title across both sides of the Tasman. ‘Flesh and Wood’, Jimmy’s seventh solo album, hit the charts in 1993 and went triple platinum. It featured duets with the likes of Joe Cocker, Diesel, Ross Wilson, The Badloves, and Archie Roach. Now, 30 years later, the album is being celebrated with the ‘Hell of a Time Tour’, with a stop in July at The Opera House in Wellington.

Jimmy said “the Hell of a Time Tour is shaping up to be something special. It’s going to be intimate and it's going to be a lot of fun. I’m going to play a bunch of my favourite tunes — and when songs are this good it's great to strip them back to the bare bones and really tell the stories.” Expect to sing along to ‘The Weight’, ‘You Can’t Make Love Without A Soul’, ‘Still Got A Long Way To Go’, and ‘It Will Be Alright’. It won’t just be songs from ‘Flesh and Wood’. Audiences will be treated to a range of greatest hits from his many albums and extensive career.
